I have just got off the phone to British Gas after they left a message on the 1571 answer phone. They had lost the e-mails I had sent them     so I went through it all again about contacting them by phone twice the last time in July giving bank details and been told how much each would be a month.
This time I am told that there has never been gas registered at the property it is still listed as a plot number and it could take up to 12 weeks to set up an account   that is not my direct debit that is the gas account so I can set up a direct debit
It could be as late as 11th December before I can attempt to set up a direct debit. I just hope all they do is set the direct debit at what I was told it would be in July.

I wrote to their complaints department about mine, detailed explanation, times, names and durations of calls etc.
Last night I got a phone call from a very nice lady, all sorted out, money where it should be and a credit on top for the phone bill  _________________ Today is a gift, that is why they call it the Present.

Glad you got yours sorted Jean.
I got a call about ten to five they have set up the account and I gave them an up to date meter reading and the reading from when I moved in. they are now going to take the same amount a month for gas as electric. Amazing they must have needed the money as it was less than 3 hours after I got off the phone that it took them to set it up. should have kept quiet and I would have had free gas :o :o _________________ Don't shoot a politician use a rope it's reusable |

It took a friend of mine 18 months to convince them they were using their gas and as soon as they were convinced, wanted a huge amount in one go! Not that they got it, my friend said that as it was their fault, they could have it at what he could afford a month   _________________ Today is a gift, that is why they call it the Present.

British Gas are useless! I had a direct debit with them for my account and for some strange reaaon when I had the bill someone elses card account payments were going on and credited to me. I phoned them up several times and the said they couldnt do anything because of data protection, it went on for almost 18 mths. Then they said i had paid to much so credited all this other persons money into my bank, tried telling them money wasnt mine but they wounldnt listen. Then the other person contacted them to ask where her money was (i had tried to give them the money back for 2 mths) I then got a stinking letter demanding the money back immediately as it wasnt mine they near enough tried to tell me I had tried to commit fraud. Phoned them and gave them a piece of my mind, sent cheque to BG (i had to pay for the stamp for their mistake).
Then a few weeks after cheque had been sent and cashed (and this is the best bit) BG wrote to me and said that I still owed the money so that they could credit the other person i said that i had sent a cheque and they said but that is ours you now still have to pay other customer. They even sent it to a debt collection dept. I had to contact energywatch and CAB to sort it.
I will never use BG ever again! |

I am waiting for the next letter from British gas for the electric from before I was in here, I have passed 3 on to the letting agent who so he says has passed them on to the landlady who hasn't paid them last one was final notice. I prefer e-mail as I get a copy also saves writing out 2 letters  _________________ Don't shoot a politician use a rope it's reusable |

I use E-ON and they are just as dim. I've nearly halved my gas and electric consumption in the last year by buying a new efficient boiler and replacing all my light bulbs and switching everything off at night.
But they wrote to me (despite my account being in overpaid and in surplus by £150) to ask to increase my dual fuel standing order by £70 a month!! I said "I'm not a bank, I dont give you interest free loans, give me my money back" !!! |

I heard on planet rock news that people who where in credit were having their direct debit increased some without even been notified. I can check my account on-line so just log in and check any time I want.
In 6 months I have hardly had the heating on, cannot wait for next year when they say we have reduced your payment I will say I want what I am in credit back. _________________ Don't shoot a politician use a rope it's reusable |
