My Mum.

I got some bad news today, my poor mum has to have a Bi-opsy on her nose, she had skin cancer about 4 years ago and had a mole removed on her nose, now just below where that was she now has a small crusty spot, she went to the hospital yesterday and they told her they want her back on the 16th to do a Bi-opsy, poor mum is so scared and right now she is wishing my Dad was here for her... i don't know if i can cope with another member of my family having cancer...

Hi Kazzy, my niece had exactly the same thing on her nose, but once it was taken off she was absolutely fine (and it was cancerous), so try not to worry.

Thanks guys, i have spent the day with mum and i can report it wasn't a pleasant day, mums getting more and more depressed, the depressants she's been on for about a year now don't seem to have made a difference so i asked her how many she's been taking and she said oh i came off them a few months back, i said did the doctor say you could and she said i didn't ask him i just came off them, now i thought you was meant to wean yourself of them slowly, so i'm wondering if this could be why she seems to be getting no better, i was wondering if i phoned her doctor and explained this if he would talk to me or if patient doctor policy would intervene and he not tell me anything. i'm at a loss as to what to do next... kazzy xx

Hi Kazzy,
Dunno if the doc will talk to you or not, but you aren't supposed to just stop taking anti depressants, especially if you have been on them for a while.
I would try talking to the doctor, because even if he can't tell you anything he will know what is going on and maybe see your Mum.

Thanks guys, My sister Dawn has had a word with mum on the phone last night and mum promised her she will go back to the doctors and tell him what she's done and ask for some more pills, i have asked my mums friend pam if she will go with mum to make sure that mums carries out this request. the last thing i want is for my mum to feel pressured into something she doesn't want to do but i really feel by going back on the depressants she will start to feel better in herself and then we can then help her cope with going to the hspital on the 16th for her Bi-opsy. one thing at a time is something my Dad use to say.... kazzy x
